When a Chinese mythic world travels without translation

The video came with almost no instructions. There was no narration explaining the mythology behind palaces rising above an ocean of clouds in the video, nor subtitles identifying the heavenly gates, cranes or tiny figures moving beneath them. Yet viewers outside China quickly began naming the world for themselves.
