Tonga faces severe drought threat as El Niño brings very dry conditions nationwide

Nuku'alofa, Tonga: Tonga is facing the prospect of a severe and prolonged drought, with the Tonga Meteorological Service warning that a strong to very strong El Niño could bring very dry conditions across the entire country and place growing pressure on water supplies, food production and public health.
