Sudan’s al-Burhan: We Are Fighting an Existential War

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, said that the army is fighting the war “with honor and dignity, without interference from any external party.” He stressed that it is “the battle of all Sudanese and, for us, it is an existential battle.” His remarks came as signs of a political crisis began to emerge within the government following the dismissal of a minister belonging to an armed faction allied with the army.
