This weekend’s big streaming premiere harkens back to a movie staple of the 1980s, the “mis-matched” buddy action comedy. And, appropriately enough, it is set in the 1980s. Another exercise in nostalgia, you’d think. Well, it’s a bit more complex than that since a big chunk of it deals with the then still “very frigid” Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union (a bit like that 81′ classic STRIPES). As for the “buddies”, we get a most unusual pairing of actors (and acting “styles”).
