Senegal: Judicial Investigation Continues Against 99 Alleged Gay Men Remaining in Pretrial Detention

The investigating judge of the 1st Chamber of the Pikine-Guédiawaye District Court in Senegal issued his investigative report on August 7, 2026, in connection with cases R.I. 29/26 and R.P. 0542/26 concerning 99 men charged with alleged “unnatural acts,” criminal conspiracy, willful transmission of HIV, endangering the lives of others, money laundering, and, in some cases, complicity in the offer or sale of drugs.
