Russia: Ukraine Cripples ROSCOSMOS

August 28, 2026: The war in Ukraine is expected to cost Russia a trillion dollars, nearly half its annual GDP. Russia has already spent $866 billion so far, and one of the major victims of that spending is ROSCOSMOS, the Russian space agency. Russian efforts to duplicate SpaceX’s Falcon 9 using the Amur-LNG rocket have been continually delayed. The first launch was supposed to take place this year but was recently delayed to 2031.
