Proposed levy should be ‘appropriate, well targeted,’ NZBA says

The Reserve Bank has today opened consultation on a proposed prudential levy that was announced in the May Budget. The levy would apply to entities, including banks; non-bank deposit takers; and insurance companies. NZ Banking Association chief executive Roger Beaumont said fairness was needed.
