Western Cape Government and SAPS to launch “Lawyers in Police Stations Project” in Mitchells Plain On Tuesday, 18 August 2026, Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde and provincial Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Anroux Marais, will officially launch the “Lawyers in Police Stations Project” in the Mitchells Plain Policing Precinct. The Premier and Minister will be joined by senior South African Police Service officials as well as representatives of the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC).
