Pompeii: The city where time stood still as Mount Vesuvius erupted

The ancient city of Pompeii, located in Campania in Italy, was once a wealthy and bustling city. All around the city, one would find luxurious homes and big public buildings. On August 24, 79 AD, Mount Vesuvius, under the shadows of which the town was flourishing, erupted, and destroyed the city of Pompeii and the neighbouring areas completely.
