PEC condemns murder of digital scribe in Balochistan – The Indian Awaaz

Geneva: Press Emblem Campaign (PEC), the global media safety and rights body, condemned the murder of digital journalist Nazar Muhammad Kanrani in Jaffarabad locality of Balochistan in western Pakistan. The resident of Sohbatpur locality was shot dead on 4 August 2026 by an armed man in Ladies market area of Dera Allahyar town. Kanrani (40), an office bearer of Awami Press Club Sohbatpur, received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. The police have already arrested a suspect (identified as Hafiz) and continued the investigation.
