Netflix's 'Pirates Of The Caribbean Meets Harry Potter' Series Makes Lord Of The Rings Look Small
Summary
Swashbuckling magic on an unmatched scale. One epic Netflix saga blends swashbuckling action with whimsical magic, and manages to make Middle-earth feel claustrophobic in the process. If one property holds the pop-culture crown when it comes to expansive fantasy worlds, it is The Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth has become synonymous with rich, lore-heavy fantasy settings, with every new fantastical realm created by authors, filmmakers, or TV studios inevitably compared to it. From its sprawling geography and ancient histories to its countless cultures, languages, and legends, the scale of Middle-earth is one that few, if any, fantasy series can match.
