Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata) in Δημοτική Ενότητα Ηρακλείας, Ελλάς

Cairina moschata is a species of ducks in the family of Anatidae, it's a large duck, males grow to be 7 kg while the females are about half the male's size or around 3 kg. The wild subspecies are usually black and white, though some feral populations is all white as this spotting. They are originally native to the Americas and have been domesticated for food by indigenous people for many hundred years before Colombus arrived in South-America. As far as I know these birds are feral and resides in Kerkini all year as the species is non-migratory.
