Meghalaya: Where Government is the enemy

This article is not an indictment on the Conrad Sangma led MDA Government which has been in power for just over a year. Politicians don’t drive governments; bureaucrats do! Politicians are reshuffled every five years but the bureaucracy carries on with unbridled powers to halt development. This entrenched bureaucracy by its very permanence becomes a bottleneck to development. Listening to the woes of an upcoming entrepreneur in Meghalaya is heart-breaking.
