Meghalaya BJP leaders camp in Delhi as speculation grows
SHILLONG, Sep 7: Meghalaya’s political uncertainty has entered another uneasy phase. Barely two days after Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, several senior BJP leaders from the state are now camping in the national capital. The leaders have described the visit as personal and have declined to discuss politics. The timing, however, has not gone unnoticed in Shillong. At a moment when political circles are already buzzing with talk of realignment, any gathering of key players in Delhi is bound to attract attention. The question doing the rounds is simple: why are Meghalaya’s BJP leaders in Delhi now?
