Macau companies in Hengqin grow 75% as integration deepens
As the Guangdong-Macau Deep Cooperation Zone marks its fifth anniversary, the number of Macau-based companies operating in Hengqin has grown by 75% over the past five years. Hengqin authorities said that by the end of July this year, there were 8,148 companies with Macau capital registered in the zone, accounting for 16.2% of all companies on the island. That means roughly one in six businesses operating in Hengqin now has ties to Macau.
