Jakarta airport, four others reopen as Anak Krakatau ash disrupts air travel

Indonesia's main Jakarta airport and four other aviation hubs have reopened. Volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau had previously caused their closure. This disruption impacted over 340,000 travelers and numerous flight cancellations. Authorities are now checking the airworthiness of affected aircraft. The volcano sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire, a geologically active region.
