HYC calls for review of border security after detention of 27 B’deshis in Assam

SHILLONG, Sep 21: The Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) has called for a review of border security arrangements in Meghalaya after 27 Bangladeshi nationals were reportedly detained in Assam following their alleged entry through the Dawki sector. In a press statement issued on Monday, the HYC questioned how the 27 foreign nationals could allegedly cross the international border through Dawki, travel through Meghalaya and reach Assam without being detected.
