GSU seeks GHADC intervention in a’king land ‘encroachment’

TURA, Oct 22: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Western Zone Ampati, has alleged illegal encroachment by outsiders into a’king lands in two villages and has sought the intervention of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) in the matter. According to a complaint submitted to GHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Albinush R Marak, the alleged encroachments have taken place at Katuli and Jhalgaon villages under Ampati. “These places are situated within the interstate boundary of the Assam-Meghalaya border.
