Glasgow SNP and Greens vote to cut council workers’ pay via “fire and rehire”

Scottish National Party–controlled Glasgow City Council is using a long-delayed equal pay settlement to cut local authority workers’ salaries. The city council is preparing “fire and rehire” measures against as much as 11 percent of its 24,000 non-teaching workforce.
