First-degree murder charges in connection to double homicide in Queen Mary Park

An Edmonton man has been charged with first degree murder in the stabbing deaths of a retired couple in the Queen Mary Park neighbourhood on Friday. Edward Kyle Roberts, 31, is accused of breaking into the home of John Nascimento, 93, and Maria Nascimento, 81, and killing them with a stolen knife, police said in a news release. Police responded to a suspicious persons report around noon on Friday at a residence in the area of 113 Street and 111 Avenue.
