El Salvador consults on project to build first subsea cable

The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) has launched a call for proposals to finance studies for what will be El Salvador's first submarine cable. The project, first announced two years ago, would connect the country directly to global internet networks, reducing its reliance on terrestrial operators.
