SHILLONG, Sep 7: Eight UDP MLAs led by Education Minister and Amlarem legislator Lahkmen Rymbui are understood to be waiting for a decision from the BJP’s national leadership before taking the next step towards switching sides — a move that could recast the balance inside Meghalaya’s ruling coalition. Sources close to the legislators said the group has already placed a set of demands before the BJP’s central leadership and is prepared to move if the assurances it wants are given.
