Earlier radioligand treatment delays metastatic prostate cancer progression

Adding a targeted radioligand drug earlier in treatment reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 28% for patients with a common form of metastatic prostate cancer, according to an international clinical trial led in part by Weill Cornell Medicine. The phase 3 trial tested 177Lu-PSMA-617 alongside androgen deprivation therapy and an androgen receptor pathway inhibitor in patients with prostate-specific membrane antigen-positive cancer.
