Drug abuse significant social & law and order challenge in J&K: UT authorities to high level Parliament panel

Drug abuse has emerged as a significant social, public health and law-and-order challenge in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). It has particularly grown among the youth, affecting both urban and rural areas, mainly due to cross-border vulnerability and trafficking of narcotic substances through international borders and infiltration routes, as well as psychological stress and prolonged exposure to conflict situations.
