Dozens of Springfield Haitians held in Butler County Jail face uncertain future

Local community members are calling for the immediate release of some Haitian immigrants who live in the Springfield area who have been arrested by federal agents and locked up at the Butler County Jail. Advocates say that local detainees could spend weeks or months in custody before they appear before an immigration judge and find out if they will be deported, released on bond or allowed to stay.
