Death toll in Nepal-Tibet flash floods rises to 392

KATHMANDU/NEW DELHI, Aug 27: The death toll from flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border rose to 392 on Thursday — 389 in Nepal and three in Tibet — as rescuers raced to trace nearly 1,500 people still missing, including 290 Indian nationals. An ice-rock avalanche triggered by a glacial collapse near the border sent water, mud and debris through central Nepal on Wednesday, washing away homes, vehicles, roads and bridges and damaging hydropower projects.
