Coup-plot legislators cower in embassies to avoid arrest

THREE Venezuelan legislators involved in an attempted coup have gone into hiding, seeking refuge in foreign embassies after the Supreme Court lifted their immunity from prosecution.Americo de Grazia, Mariela Magallanes and Richard Blanco, members of the defunct National Assembly, face charges of conspiracy, rebellion and treason for supporting calls for the armed overthrow of President Nicolas Maduro’s democratically elected government.Mr Grazia and Ms Magallanes are in the Italian embassy, while Mr Blanco is in the Argentinian mission.
