Chief Executive mourns former premier Zhu Rongji

Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai expressed profound sorrow on behalf of the Macao Special Administrative Region over the death of former State Council Premier Zhu Rongji, who died in Beijing Wednesday (Aug. 12), according to the Government Information Bureau. Sam extended his condolences to Zhu’s family, describing him as an outstanding state leader who made significant contributions to China’s reform, opening-up, and modernization. Zhu attended Macau’s handover ceremony on Dec. 20, 1999, and witnessed the swearing-in of the MSAR’s first-term chief executive and principal officials. FacebookTweetPin
