Centre tightens e-commerce sales rules, puts ‘fake’ discounts on watch

The Indian government mandates e-commerce platforms to display actual and prior prices for discounts, prohibit misleading search results, and strengthen consumer grievance redressal with new rules effective January 1, 2027.
