Canada sets framework for responsible data centre development

Ottawa’s new principles call on data centres to protect ratepayers, limit water use, show local benefits, and add strategic value. Twenty-three companies have signed on, including Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Bell Canada, Cohere, Equinix, Google, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, OVHcloud, Telus.
