Calendar Pick: Jack Burk Artist Reception

Heirloom Cafe has been providing a home for the rich ink and pastel works of Jack Burk since the beginning of November, but it is now celebrating with an artist reception. Visitors will get a chance to meet with the Iowa native and discuss his expressive natural scenes. Jack Burk retired with his wife to Athens after 42 years teaching art in public schools and a private Native American school. Since moving, Burk has become an active member of the local arts community, as both a member of the Athens Area Plein Air Artists and the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation.
