Budget Deficit Increased in the First Half of the Year

The budget deficit rose to 5.3 percent of GDP in the first half of the year, compared to 4.8 percent in the previous year. National debt also increased, amounting to 412.3 billion euros according to Statistics Austria, which corresponds to a debt ratio of 82.3 percent of GDP.
