Brussels police seize more than 500kg of crystal meth coming from the US

Some 545kg of crystal meth – also known as methamphetamine or speed – was found hidden in a shipping container coming from the United States, announced Brussels’ federal judicial police.“This would represent one of the largest seizures of methamphetamine in Belgium,” it said.The interception on 18 July was in coordination with Antwerp police, customs and civil protection authorities as well as local police units.After Brussels police identified a suspicious container destined for a company in the capital, an operation was carried out simultaneously in the city of Genk in Limburg province.
