Attack Squadron 15: The Twenty-Seven-Year Combat Legacy Of The Valions

Established as Torpedo Squadron 4 (VT-4) in 1942, Attack Squadron 15 (VA-15) served in the Atlantic and Pacific during WWII, taking part in Operation Leader, Leyte, Iwo Jima, and strikes against Japan. After the war, it transitioned to attack and antisubmarine missions, participated in NATO exercises, Cold War deployments, the Tachen Islands evacuation, the Suez Crisis, and later flew combat missions over Vietnam before being disestablished on June 1, 1969.
