$4.5 million gift will expand summer science research at HWS

Hobart and William Smith Colleges will use a planned gift of more than $4.5 million from the estate of Dr. Edward J. Tapper to permanently support summer science research for students. Tapper, a 1964 Hobart graduate and physician-researcher who recently died, left most of his estate to expand the Edward J. Tapper Science Research Fund and connect his legacy to the new Fish Center for the Sciences in Geneva.
